Activities at this special Bird Fair will include: Door Prizes, Raffles, viewing and sales of Exotic Birds, Cages, Toys, Food, Treats and more. Certified Avian Specialists & Certified Aviculturists will be available to answere questions at no charge to entrants of the Fair. Funds raised during this celebration will be used for projects on the local, state, and national levels. Over 700 people attended the 2009 Spring Fair. In August 2009, the Greater Omaha Cage Bird Society was able to donate over $1200 to local and national organizations. These funds were raised during the 2009 Spring Bird Fair. The purpose of the GOCBS is to benefit avian education and research. The Fall Fair is one of our largest events bringing public attention to the health and ecological importance of cage birds. It offers a learning experience for the public, enabling people to see up close and personal the different birds available for companionship and products available to support and entertain birds at home. GOCBS hosts monthly meetings on the third (3rd) Sunday of each month at 3:00pm. Starting October 18, 2009 at: Nebraska Humane Society Meetings offer information and support to people interested in cage birds. It has a lending library of books on training, care and husbandry. The Group provides support to the community, education, rescue and adoption services.
